Homeland Security & NIMS Report


Court-City Hall Roof

After discussing the possible costs of engineer fees plus changing the roof style as previously consider, board decided to repair, with same rubber roofing, court building roof and city office roof.  R. Poland made motion to advertise for replacement of rubber roofs on two units (court and office).  R. McMillin seconded.  Yes- M. Elerick, R . Choate, R. Poland, R. McMillin, R. Fields.

Community Center Roof Repair

Noted:  Repair was advertised.  After Disc;  M.  Elerick made motion to award community center roof repair to D& J Roofing for $8700.  R. Poland seconded.   Yes- M. Elerick, R. Choate, R. Poland, R. McMillin, R. Fields.

Park Maintenance

Need for verification that maintenance of the park is solely the responsibility of the town.

Rezoning-Residental to Commerical-SW Corner- Hiwassee & Montana

Bill Charles requested rezoning of SW Corner-Hiwassee & Montana.  Mr. & Mrs. Charles were accompanied by their attorney, Ryan Oldfield. It was noted that Planning Commission, in meeting prior to this regular meeting, denied approval. Mr. Charles presented plans for a tractor dealership . After disc:  R. Fields made motion on the recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny zone change from residential to commercial. R. Poland seconded.  Yes-M. Elerick, R. Poland,R. Fields, R. McMillin..  No-R.Choate.

Motion carried.

Code Enforcement-Shane Wilson

As requested by board members, Shane Wilson was present to discuss code enforcement duties.  Mr. Wilson advised to be more proactive and that an active report be presented at first meeting of each month.  No voting action taken.

Housekeeping-Contract Applications

Board was advised that position was advertised, several inquiries had been received and one application – Christy Swearengin.  It was noted that Ms. Swearengin has good references and would be suited for position. In disc;  it was noted that Community Center needs a  detailed cleaning.  R. Poland made motion to retain Ms. Swearengin at $250 per month. (Once per week City Hall-PD Cleaning and once a month Community Center Cleaning) + $10 Inspection fees (After Community Center is rented-inspection needs to be made before deposit is returned) plus a one time $100 Community Center cleaning.  M.
