Public Works | Director of Public Works | Statistics                     The Public Works Department duties are to maintain the water systems wells and all mains and piping to the customer meter. We do monthly testing at DEQ. To assure water is safe to drink. Water. We maintain wastewater lines (mains) from customer taps to the waste water treatment facility. Including jetting of backed up wastewater mains.  Also, we maintain our wastewater treatment facility daily. Natural gas. We maintain the integrity of our gas piping (main lines) and service meters to the customer side of the line. We do a multitude of testing at various times yearly and quarterly such as odorant and leak detection surveys. Also, periodic meter and regulator change outs and line locating for excavators.                       My past job experience is in excavation an underground line bury and heavy equipment operations. My certifications I have Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Class B water and Class B Wastewater and Class C water laboratory certifications. I am a state certified Code Enforcement Officer also a state certified building inspector and certified in flood plain management. I have numerous certifications in emergency management from FEMA, also certificates from Michigan state university school of criminal justice, numerous certificates from Oklahoma gas association. I am O.Q. certified in natural Gas as per Okla. Corporation commission standards and this is to mention a few certifications that I have. I have been with Jones Emergency Management for about 13 years as a volunteer.     Director of Public Works Carlton W. Taylor     When I started with the Town Of Jones I started as a utility maintenance worker after a few years I became the field supervisor and as of Jan. Of 2009 I became the public works Director. I grew up in the Town of Jones. I live in the Town of Jones my children have either graduated high school or still attend school at Jones. I love This Town most everyone in this town knows me by name and I know them. I would not want to be anywhere else. Some of the recent larger projects I have been involved with are the water line replacement on the north side of Main Street and the reconstruction of the intersections of Hiwassee and Britton Rd. to name a few.                       Director Carlton W.
