Mission | Chief of Police | Department Statistics | Events                            The Chief of Police serves as the Department Head of the Town of Jones Police Department. Performs a variety of complex        administrative, supervisory and professional work in planning, coordination and directing the activities of the Police Department.      Has full authority to plans, coordinate, supervise and evaluate police department operations and to change, modify or enact new        policies.     Develops policies and procedures for the department in order to implement directives from the City Council or Mayor and comply        with State and Federal law.     Plans and implements a law enforcement program for the City in order to better carry out the policies and goals of Town Mayor       and Council; reviews Department performance and effectiveness, formulates programs or polices to alleviate deficiencies.     Coordinates the information gathered and work accomplished by various officers; assigns officers to special investigations as the       needs arise for their specific skills     Assures that personnel are assign to shifts or working units which provide optimum effectiveness in terms of current situations and       circumstances governing deployment.     Evaluates evidence, witnesses, and suspects in criminal cases to correlate all aspects and assess for trends, similarities, and       associations with other cases.     Supervises and coordinates the preparation and presentation of an annual budget for the Department; directs the implementation       of the department’s budget; plans for and reviews specifications for new or replaced equipment.     Directs the development and maintenance of systems, records and legal documents that provide for the proper evaluation, control       and documentation of police department operations.     Oversees training and development of department personnel.     Handles grievances, maintains departmental discipline and the conduct and general behavior of assigned personnel     Writes schedules’ and reviews time and overtime worked.     Receives and investigates citizen complaints.                     Education Associates Degree from Oklahoma State University 2004 Graduated with honors Whitmer High School Toledo, Ohio 1993 Previous Positions Patrolman for the town of Jones Patrolman Forest Park Deputy Sheriff Cleveland County City of Norman Traffic Control Professional Organizations Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police Metro Tech Advisory Board Metro Chiefs Association National Night Out Member Special Olympics Torch Run Chief Thomas W.
