Jones Public Works

  • DEQ Water and Wastewater license is preferred, or the ability to obtain a license in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test. (Pre-employment and random)
  • Must be able to respond to emergency calls within a 30-minute time frame.
  • The job involves working with water, wastewater, natural gas, water testing, mowing, reading meters, etc.

Utility Billing / Court Clerk

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, accounting, and data processing.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working Knowledge of computers and electronic data processing.
  • Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Skill in operating listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately and quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish courteous and effective working relationship with other employees, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to cope with angry or difficult customers in a calm and professional manner.

Tools and Equipment used:

  • Personal computer, central billing system terminal, central financial computer, 10-key calculator, phone, fax, and copy machine.
