When you get elected to public office, you do so knowing that eventually you will be called on to make difficult decisions. Last night’s Special Board of Trustees meeting was just that, DIFFICULT. Last night the Jones Board of Trustees voted to terminate Police Chief Robert Williams for cause.
This being a personnel matter I/we cannot comment on the reasons, at this time. We, also, voted to open an investigation into internal Police Department operations.
Please understand this was not an easy decision and was not taken lightly by any member of the Jones Board of Trustees.
